Keerthy Suresh has signed her next! The actress will be seen in a project titled Raghu Thatha, which will be written and directed by Suman Kumar and will be bankrolled by Hombale Films, who had earlier directed the K.G.F franchise. The makers made the title announcement with a sketch of Keerthy Suresh's character in the film and the actress is seen protesting against what looks like Hindi imposition. In the backdrop, we see the name of a town Valluvarpettai and the Hindi version of it being scratched out.

The title Raghu Thatha is borrowed from the iconic line 'Ek gaon mein ek kisan raghu thatha' which was used in K Bhagyaraj's 1981 film, Indru Poi Naalai Vaa. In the scene, a Hindi teacher (John Amrithraj) teaches the lines 'Ek gaon mein ek kisan rehta tha', to his student Rajendran (G Ramli). Ramli, however, replies, saying 'Ek gaon mein ek kisan raghu thatha," with the word 'thatha' meaning grandfather in Tamil. The comedy basically delves into the struggles of learning Hindi. Every time the debate about Hindi imposition begins, these legendary lines from the film surface on the internet.

Hombale Films posted on their social media handle that the film will be about a revolution. They captioned the poster, "𝐁𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞" Be ready (sic)."

And now it looks like Keerthy Suresh will also talking about the subject in the film. Interestingly, this will be the first ever venture of Hombale Films in Tamil. Taking to her social media handle, Keerthy wrote, "Yek gaav mein yek kisan Raghuthathaaaa!Antha #Raghuthatha Super happy to be associated for my next adventure with @hombalefilms @sumank @yaminiyag @vjsub @RSeanRoldan #MSBhaskar sir #EditorSuresh @ShruthiManjari and #TeamRaghuthatha."

Keerthy Suresh was last seen in the Malayalam film Vaashi, in which she teamed up with Tovino Thomas. She has a slew of films in her kitty, including Maamannan, Dasara, Bhola Shankar and Siren.
