Hombale Films is looking forward to an eventful 2023 with the release of its first slate of non-Kannada ventures. The Bengaluru-based production house, following the resounding success of KGF 2 and Kantara the previous year, has made no bones about spreading its wings across other film industries as well and has three major non-Kannada releases lined up for later this year, in the form of Dhoomam, Salaar and Raghu Thatha.

The latter, starring Keerthy Suresh, will mark their Tamil debut and according to the latest developments the team of Raghu Thatha has successfully wrapped up the shoot. Hombale Films took to social media to proudly announce that Raghu Thatha & Co. are well on their way to the release and also share a few glimpses of the on-set celebrations.

"Because The Revolution Begins At Home..." reads the tagline of Suman Kumar's Raghu Thatha which is said to be a humourous and satirical take on the journey undertaken by a young woman (Keerthy Suresh) to 'protect the identity of her land and people'. Kumar, a stand-up comedian, novelist and screenwriter on noted web shows like The Family Man and Farzi, makes his debut as a director.

Describing the film as a comedy-drama about a 'strong and determined woman' who goes about challenging society's status quo and norms and ends up finding her unique voice, Hombale Films has stated in the past that Keerthy Suresh is the best fit to play the character. "Keerthy is the perfect choice to play the lead given her talent and versatility and we’re happy to have her on board," said Vijay Kiragandur in his previous press statement.

Yamini Yagnamurthy (Saani Kaayidham, Sillu Karupatti) is the cinematographer of Raghu Thatha with Sean Roldan (Pa Paandi, Jai Bhim) scoring the music and T.S. Suresh handling the editing of the Tamil language film. The makers are yet to reveal the release date of the film.
