In his speech at the Keedaa Cola pre-release event, Brahmanandam revealed that he had wished to work with Tharun Bhascker after watching Pelli Choopulu and Ee Nagariniki Emaindi

"The only reason I needed to act in the film was Tharun Bhascker," said the acting legend Brahmanandam, right at the beginning of his speech at the 'Keedaa Cola' pre-release event. The statement would draw a cheer from the crowd to validate the fact that someone of the stature and repute of Brahmanandam would hold a relatively less experienced and much younger filmmaker in such high regard.
And to add to that praise, the veteran actor would also compare Tharun Bhascker with another Telugu filmmaker known for his remarkable play of words and humour - Hasya Brahma himself, Jandhyala.
"I have watched both Pelli Choopulu and Ee Nagariniki Emaindi and felt that it would be great to work with such talent. But, of course, there's the element of ego which inhibited me from asking them for work. And I am sure he (Tharun Bhascker), too, felt that if he approached a senior actor such as myself, there was a chance of being turned down. But anyway, by the grace of god, he did ask me and my happiness knew no bounds at that point," said Brahmanandam in the same speech, before going to shower more praise on Tharun Bhascker and his entire team for the way they took care of him on the sets.

He would also speak about the unorthodox "logical" humour that Tharun imbues his material with, which the 67-year-old actor termed as 'novel'. In short, he was mighty impressed with what the young bunch of makers had put together for him and the palpable camaraderie he shares with the rest of the cast (much younger to him, again) suggests exactly that.
"The kind of endearing and charming humour that I was able to execute in Jandhyala garu's films, I felt the same experience while being part of this film. Without any double-meaning jokes or any such gimmicks, the humour in this film (Keedaa Cola) is rendered very sharp and natural and that is because of the director, Mr. Tharun Bhascker," added Brahmanandam who declared that he not only loves the filmmaker but also admires him.
Indeed, it is extremely high praise for any director to have a bona fide legend of the craft making such statements. Keedaa Cola, as a result, has generated great buzz ahead of its release on November 3, especially considering it marks Tharun Bhascker's return to the director's chair (for a full-fledged) film after nearly 5 years. The film also stars Rag Mayur, Vishnu Oi, Jeevan Kumar, Ravindra Vijay, 'Roadies' Raghu Ram and Tharun Bhascker himself.
