One of the finest qualities of Tharun Bhascker as a filmmaker is how he doesn’t let commerce or popular diktat obstruct his creative vision. He makes films with utmost conviction, which precisely explain the raw appeal they have, many years after their release. After Pelli Choopulu and Ee Nagaraniki Emaindhi, the actor-director returns with a crime comedy Keedaa Cola, that releases on November 3 .
Keedaa Cola’s trailer was launched today in the presence of Rana Daggubati and Suresh Babu in Hyderabad. The glimpse does well to introduce a viewer to the characters, the conflicts and the tone of the film. After two feel-good tales, Tharun Bhascker pushes the bar this time as a director with an unconventional crime comedy with slick action and wacky situations.
The trailer begins with three pivotal characters of the film - two friends and a physically challenged man - and showcases their dire financial situation. One of them is a lawyer. They come across a come cool drink - keedaa cola - which has a cockroach in it, which they believe will make them filthy rich. The focus later shifts to the internal politics with a corporator and the workers under him.
The coroporator tries to show a subordinate his place and the latter seeks vengeance. He hires a goon - Naidu, a jail returnee, to settle scores. Later, the tale unfolds through a gangster and a deal amounting to Rs 1 crore. When these characters try to showcase their upmanship, all hell breaks loose. It’s terrific to see Tharun Bhaskcer having a blast in envisioning such a crazy premise.
K Vivek Sudhanshu, Saikrishna Gadwal, Srinivas Kaushik Nanduri, Sripad Nandiraj and Upendra Varma have produced the film that stars Brahmanandam, Raghu Ram, Ravindra Vijay, Jeevan Kumar, Vishnu, Tharun Bhascker, Chaitanya Rao Madadi, Rag Mayur in pivotal roles. Suresh Productions is distributing the film and Rana Daggubati is the presenter. Vivek Sagar scores the music.
