Of over half a dozen releases last weekend, two Telugu films have put up a good show at the box office - the crime comedy Keedaa Cola and the rural thriller Polimera 2. Keedaa Cola, directed by Tharun Bhascker, stars Brahmanandam, Chaitanya Rao, Rag Mayur in key roles, while Polimera 2 is headlined by Satyam Rajesh, Kamakshi Bhaskarla, Getup Srinu and others.
The makers of Keedaa Cola have officially confirmed the film has collected Rs 12 crores gross worldwide. In a report, Filmify stated that the crime comedy earned nearly Rs 3 crore share in Telugu states and Rs 6 crore share worldwide. The film needs to make over Rs 3 crore to reach the break-even stage. The Tharun Bhascker directorial has performed better in the US, moving past the half million dollar mark.

The surprise hit Polimera 2 has amassed Rs 9.50 crore gross worldwide, managing a share of Rs 5.25 crore. It has reportedly registered profits of Rs 1.2 crore already. The popularity of the OTT film Maa Oori Polimera convinced the makers to go ahead with a sequel, which is turning out to a theatrical success now. The gripping screenplay and impressive performances are ensuring housefull crowds everywhere.
In a bid to woo more viewers to theatres, the makers of Narakasura, another film that released last weekend, have introduced a new ‘1 + 1’ ticketing strategy, where viewers get two tickets at the price of one. Rakshit Atluri, Sangeerthana Vipin, Aparna Janardanan, Charan Tej, Nasser played pivotal roles in the film directed by Sebastian. Narakasura is an action thriller with technical finesse in the storytelling.
Trade reports suggest Keedaa Cola has a good chance of collecting $1 million in the US, while Polimera 2’s impressive run is certain to continue this weekend as well.
