The Kannada Chalanachitra Cup (KCC) is back for a fourth season and will be played at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru between December 23 and 25. The three-day cricketing extravaganza will see a plethora of stars either on the field playing T-10 matches or in the stands, supporting the teams. However, the absence of certain stars has always stood out. For instance, Yash, who has played in the second edition of the tournament has not been a part of it since, while Darshan has never played or been seen supporting it. The Shetty trio - Rakshit, Rishab and Raj – have also never been on any playing 11.

When this was pointed out at a media briefing about the upcoming tournament, Sudeep, whose brainchild KCC is, said that Rakshit, Rishab and Raj have never been a part of it because none of them play cricket, or, at least, at the level at which it is expected. As for Darshan and Yash, Sudeep added that like everyone else in the industry, they too have been extended invitations. No one has been stopped from joining in, he said. KCC is a matter of pride and is not about individuals, he said, adding that it was an event for the entire industry. Since Darshan and Yash’s name were called out, Sudeep wondered why Dhruva Sarja did not feature on the list. After being the non-playing face of a team in the last season, the actor has excused himself this time.

Unlike earlier editions of the tournament, this time around, all six teams have five matches each and play each other in 15 round robin matches. The top 2 teams will play the final on December 25. The matches will be telecast live on Zee Picchar, which can be streamed on Zee5 as well.
