Six teams including the who’s who of the Kannada film industry, as well as one international player each, playing T-10 matches – that’s the Kannada Chalanachitra Cup

The two-day Kannada Chalanachitra Cup kickstarts today. Over two days, six teams – Ganga Warriors, Rashtrakoota Panthers, Vijayanagara Patriots, Wodeyar Chargers and Hoysala Eagles, will battle it out for supremacy. Beside having star ambassadors like Sudeep, Shivarajkumar, Dhananjaya, Upendra, Dhruva Sarja and Ganesh, each time also has one international cricket player each. This time around, KCC has Brian Lara, Suresh Raina, Subramaniam Badrinath, Herschelle Gibbs, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Chris Gayle playing the tournament. Gibbs and Dilshan have played in the tournament earlier.

The two-day event, though, will not only be about cricket, and will include several entertainment programmes as well. Karthik Gowda, co-founder KRG Studios and executive producer Hombale Films, is one of the patrons of the tournament, along with producer KP Sreekanth, filmmakers Nandakishore and Dinakar Thoogudeepa.
The Hoysala Eagles team is led by Sudeep, who will be joined by Chris Gayle as the international player; Ganga Warriors’ captain is Darling Krishna, who gets Suresh Raina; Vijayanagar Patriots’ captain is Pradeep Bogadi and gets Herschelle Gibbs; Kadamba Lions is led by Ganesh and Tilakaratna Dilshan is the international player; Rashtrakuta Panthers get J Karthik as captain and Subramaniam Badrinath as the international player, and last, but not the least, the Wadeyar Chargers have Shivarajkumar as captain and Brian Lara as the international player.
