KBC 16’s India Challenger Week: Krishna Selukar overcomes adversity to secure hotseat on third attempt

Krishna Selukar, a contestant from Ashti, Maharashtra, will battle his way to victory in the 'India Challenger Week' on August 28 on the knowledge-based gameshow, Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 16. For the first time ever, the top two players from the Fastest Finger First (FFF) round will face off in the "Jaldi 5 Buzzer Round" to determine who will be the play-along host. At question six, the game will go to the money tree, starting with the winner of this buzzer challenge. On his third attempt, Krishna finally gets his chance to be on the hotseat in the "Jaldi 5 Buzzer Round" after failing on his first two tries.

Krishna's determination to make his father proud

Krishna enters this season of the reality quiz show with the goal of making his father proud and demonstrating that he can achieve excellence in life. He hopes to change his life's narrative and compete. Krishna, a 29-year-old from Ashti village in Jalna district, has spent the previous two years living at a charity home in Pune. Despite holding an engineering degree, his nearly two-year unemployment has strained his connection with his father. He lost his job owing to COVID-19. Krishna is determined to pass the MPSC exams and get a government job with his family's support. He plans to move back to his village once he has a stable job.

KBC: A life-changing opportunity for Krishna and his family

Because his mother is such a die-hard fan of the show, Krishna decided to join KBC in the hopes that it would change their lives. Now that he is in charge, he can show his father how knowledgeable and determined he is while also making him proud.

Krishna will share an entertaining anecdote with Big B about his time in Kolkata sharing a hostel room with eight other people. Though it was difficult, Bachchan remembers the joy and companionship of living so close. When Krishna posts a video of his hostel life, complete with eight beds lined up in one room, AB finds it amusing and makes a light-hearted comment about how he had only two bedrooms for eight people, which led to frequent light-hearted arguments. Also, they'll talk about how Big B is ambidextrous; he'll explain how his father scolded him for using his left hand when writing, so he learnt to use his right instead. Contrarily, Krishna takes immense pride in his exceptional talent—the capacity to write with both hands—and openly displays it.
