Kaushik Sen on promotion fiasco: I don’t believe the film will not do well because of my absence

Young director Shouvik Dey’s Barfi will release soon. Meanwhile, the director alleged that one of the lead actors Kaushik Sen refused to take part in promotions. The director said taking part in the promotional activities. was part of the contract and Kaushik’s remuneration has also been cleared. After staying quiet for a few days, Kaushik finally opened up regarding the issue. 

Shouvik hosted the press conference on Tuesday. There he said that as soon as the shooting got over, every actor’s remuneration was cleared. However, Kaushik did not agree to join the promotion campaign. Shouvik claimed that he fears this will negatively impact his film. The director also revealed that he demanded two days from the actor. And taking part in the promotion was part of the contract. According to Shouvik, the actor said he does not take part in the promotional activities of the big directors also. 

Reacting to this, Kaushik said that he could not attend promotional activities due to his professional and personal commitments. He further said, “I have professional commitments. I will not be able to attend the promotions. I am busy shooting Godhuli Alap and If I miss shooting, the telecast of the show will be hampered. However, the film release will not be stopped if I don’t attend the promotions. And I don't agree that the film will not fare well if I don't attend promotions. I am prioritising my professional and personal commitments.”
