The show, which premiered on August 12 this year, recently witnessed a 25-year-old contestant take up the quiz. Akshay Narang successfully answered a few questions and won Rs 12.5 lakh on KBC 16. Akshay Narang from Delhi had to answer a Rs 25 lakh question about an Indian state that gave its name to the geological age of Earth. Since he struggled to answer it, Narang quit the game and took home Rs 12.5 lakh. The question asked to Akshay on Kaun Banega Crorepati 16 was:

Which Indian state gives its name to the geological age of the earth that started around 4000 years ago?

A - Rajasthan

B - Kerala

C - Gujarat

D - Meghalaya

The correct answer was Meghalaya.

In the episode, Akshay, a motion graphics designer, revealed that he was diagnosed with cancer in his knee. Akshay had to get an implant surgery done and because of that, he was hospitalized 13 times. Having said that, Narang told Amitabh Bachchan that he fell behind compared to his peers in regards to getting a suitable job.

Amitabh Bachchan encourages Akshay

After Akshay shared his ordeal, Amitabh Bachchan offered words of encouragement to him. The senior actor shared his experience of bouncing back from his ailments in the past. 

"The person sitting in front of you (hinting at himself) has faced many hospital visits. But I continue to bounce back because of the boundless love and support from people like you that brings me back to KBC. And, don’t be disheartened that your college friends have moved ahead because none of them are on here today on KBC, as you are," Big told Akshay.
