Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is in the headlines these days owing to promotions of his upcoming reality show, Kaun Banega Crorepati.
Kaun Banega Crorepati, also known as KBC, is a popular Indian television game show. The Amitabh Bachchan-hosted programme gives contestants the chance to win a cash prize of up to Rs. 7 crores.
The format of the show involves multiple-choice questions, with each question's difficulty level increasing as the game progresses. Contestants can use lifelines such as "Phone a Friend" and "Audience Poll" to help them answer questions.
Kaun Banega Crorepati has gained immense popularity since its inception in 2000 and continues to be a favourite among audiences, providing knowledge and entertainment in equal measure.
In the recent promo for the show, Amitabh discovers that one of the contestants on the show, who later even arrives on the hotseat, desires to become an income tax officer one day. The man in the promo even confesses on the show that he requires over Rs 80,000 to fulfill his dream.
Knowing this, Amitabh says, "I hope you become a great income tax officer, and I hope I never connect with an income tax officer in my life."
Soon after this comment by the megastar, the audience present at the show began laughing with joy. However, on social media, this development has not gone down too well amongst a section of people in society.

One of the Instagram users reminded Amitabh Bachchan of the famous ‘Panama tax evasion case,' in which the megastar was accused along with his daughter-in-law, actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The case was a topic of discussion on India’s leading news portals during the years 2016 and 2017. An investigation into the matter is underway.
Meanwhile, the latest season of Kaun Banega Crorepati will begin on August 14.
