Movie buffs were surprised when Arya announced that he is joining hands with Muthaiya for Kathar Basha Endra Muthuramalingam. The latter is known for his stories which are set against rural backdrops and cinephiles were intrigued ever since the news of them collaborating was out.
At the pre-release event of the project, the actor said that he was keen to team up with the director owing to the latter's penchant for coming up with interesting tales that are relatable to a large section of the society. The film was released in theatres on June 2 and opened to mixed response among critics and moviegoers.
The film revolves around an aggressive ruffian who decides to marry a girl from his village after knowing that the latter is facing various kinds of torture from her dear ones. How the decision affects his life forms the rest of the story. Siddhi Idnani plays the female lead in the project which has been produced by Zee Studios and Vedikkaranpatti S Sakthivel.
Prabhu, Bhagyaraj, Singampuli, Naren, Tamizh and Madhusudhana Rao among others essay pivotal roles in the movie which has music composed by GV Prakash. Velraj and Venkat Raajen have handled cinematography and editing respectively for Kathar Basha Endra Muthuramalingam.
The movie is now gearing up for its OTT premiere. It will drop on Zee5 on July 7. An official announcement will be made on the same soon. The film marks Arya's first outing this year and Siddhi's second release in Kollywood after Venthu Thaninthathu Kaadu.
The former will be next seen in Pa Ranjith's Sarpatta 2 while the latter is expected to play the female lead in the sequel of Gautham Menon's Venthu Thaninthathu Kaadu.
