Kathal is one of the most quirky and hilarious films that has been announced by Netflix among its multiple line-ups. The makers have also unveiled the teaser of the Sanya Malhotra starrer today.
The latest teaser video begins with Rajpal Yadav as a TV journalist reading a piece of spicy news for a television channel. However, he doesn't finish his lines during his recording and tells the camera person, "Gosh this breaking news is breaking my head." Moving on, the montage showcases Vijay Raaz as a politician, who summons police officers to his house to file the missing report of two precious Jackfruit from a tree in his garden.
Sanya as one of the police officers tells her senior, "Sir, this is a dangerous precedent. Soon people will start reporting missing potatoes and tomatoes."
Later, the cops can be seen taking the report seriously and start an investigation to find the two Jackfruits (Kathal). Police officers can also be seen telling people that the prize amount to find it will be Rs 10,000 while pasting pamphlets in the town describing the features of this missing vegetable.
Meanwhile, Rajpal's voice comes from the background, while he announces the breaking news in the town and says, "Kathal Kathal Kathal! A humble giant of a fruit that has got all Moba in a tizzy."
In the end, one of the cops mentions how the thief's standards have gone down as they are stealing Jackfruits now, to which Sanya's character replies, "Not like us police officers have any high standards. We are pursuing Jackfruits."
