Kathal release date: When and where to watch Sanya Malhotra, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav's social comedy on OTT

Kathal is the upcoming social comedy-drama starring Sanya Malhotra, Vijay Raaz and Rajpal Yadav. Directed by Yashowardhan Mishra, the Netflix movie chronicles an unusual police investigation of two stolen jackfruits that get missing from a local politician's garden and create huge chaos in a small town in India.

Malhotra plays a fierce police officer named Mahima, who is also the love interest of another cop in the department, which is portrayed by Anant V Joshi. Raaz essays one of the pivotal roles of a local politician, while Yadav is a famous reporter in this laughter riot.

Actors Gurpal Singh and Neha Saraf also essay the roles of police officers along with Malhotra and Joshi.

The film was officially announced in March 2022 and shooting was wrapped up in May 2022, while the official trailer of Kathal was dropped on May 4, 2023.

With a brief look at all the chaos, confusion and complication that this social drama possesses, the trailer garnered immense laughter and praise.

Meanwhile, on of the movie buffs tweeted, "pehli baat to yeh ki this is a great premise, aur doosri baat, I love @sanyamalhotra07 & her comic timing #Kathal Trailer (sic)."

Yashowardhan Mishra has directed as well as written the movie alongside Ashok Mishra. Bankrolled by the Oscar-winning filmmaker Guneet Monga Kapoor along with Ektaa R Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor, and Achin Jain under Balaji Motion Pictures and Sikhya Entertainment.

Kathal is all set to release on Netflix on May 19.
