About Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon

Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon, which premiered at the Venice Film Festival, explores the seedy underbelly of New Orleans. The thriller follows Mona Lisa, played by Jeon Jong-seo, who escapes from a mental institution and becomes friends with Bonnie, an exotic dancer and single mother played by Kate Hudson. Mona is soon revealed to have some otherworldly talents, and she hatches a criminal plan with Bonnie. When a detective gets on their trail, they are left with no option but to save themselves.

Kate Hudson, while talking about the character to Collider, spoke about bringing something unique to the part she enjoys playing, saying, “Oh, my God, you can’t help but bring what you wanna bring to something, in anything that you do. It depends on your collaborator and who your leader is if they’re open to that or not. The great experiences are always collaborative experiences. We need to be able to have a collaboration, in order for us to feel confident putting out what we hope is what the director really wants.”

Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon will be streaming on Lionsgate Play and can be consumed with your OTTplay Premium subscription. Stay tuned to OTTplay for more information on this and everything else from the world of streaming and films.
