Asif Ali's upcoming crime drama Kasargold is scheduled to release in theatres soon, which is why the actor is busy with interviews and promotional events. In a recent interview, Asif shared that he was supposed to play a role in Mammootty's horror film Bramayugam but missed out on it due to scheduling conflicts. He also expressed his surprise at Mammootty playing the character in Bramayugam.
Asif praised Mammootty for encouraging actors, including himself, to take on more challenging roles in films. Asif shared with The New Indian Express that during the filming of Rorschach, Mammootty advised him to seek unique characters that would allow him to create a space in the industry.

"Mammootty's way of selecting scripts has encouraged me to take up challenging roles. I decided to try my hand at experimental films after seeing Mammootty's films," Asif said.
Speaking about Bramayugam, Asif said, "Mammootty's judgement in taking up the role in Bramayugam is unbelievable. Surely, his performance in the film will be extraordinary."
Mammootty's diabolical character in Bramayugam
Bramayugam is an upcoming horror film directed by Rahul Sadasaivan, the director of Bhoothakaalam. The movie stars Mammootty, Arjun Ashokan, Amalda Liz, and Sidharth Bharathan in important roles. Mammootty plays a sorcerer who is skilled in sinister rituals. The first look of the movie shows the actor in a devilish appearance with a mysterious smile on his face.
Mammootty was earlier seen in a similar role in the 1989 film Adharvam.
Asif Ali's Kasargold
Asif's upcoming film Kasargold is helmed by B Tech director Mridul Nair. The film is a crime drama and promises to be a complete entertainer with exhilarating action sequences and thrills. The trailer for the film was released recently.
Sunny Wayne and Vinayakan also play pivotal roles in Kasargold, which is scripted by Sajimon Prabhakar. The film will be released in theatres on September 15.
