It’s been a while since Malayalam actor Asif Ali’s fans have seen him in a crazy thriller and director Mridul Nair’s upcoming movie Kasargold promises just that . The movie, which marks the actor-director duo’s second collaboration after BTech, is now gearing up for its theatrical release.
Kasargold, which is scripted by Malayankunju director Sajimon Prabhakar and Mridul, has Sunny Wayne, Ganapathy and Jailer villain Vinayakan in lead roles apart from Asif.
When and where to watch Asif Ali’s Kasargold?
Kasargold is all set to hit theatres on September 15. The movie marks Asif’s next release after the blockbuster 2018: Everyone Is A Hero and Maheshum Marutiyum, which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. It’s all set to clash in theatres with Dhyan Sreenivasan and Aju Varghese’s Nadhikalil Sundari Yamuna , which will also release in theatres on September 15.
What is Kasargold about?
The movie revolves around two youngsters who decide to take up an outrageously risky mission to make a fortune that would secure their lives forever. However, the plan goes topsy turvy throwing umpteen roadblocks along their way.
The film, which also has a cameo from Nna Thaan Case Kodu director Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval, Geethi Sangeetha, Deepak Parambol, Abhiram Radhakrishnan and Sagar Surya, has music by Vishnu Vijay.
Vinayakan’s follow-up to Rajinikanth’s Jailer
Coincidentally, the movie, which deals with smuggling, is the second consecutive release for actor Vinayakan on the theme. In his recent release, Jailer, which had Rajinikanth in the lead, Vinayakan essayed the role of an idol smuggler.
Talking about Vinayakan’s role in the movie, Asif, in a recent interview, said that the actor will be seen essaying a different character than the ones that Malayalam audience are used to seeing him in. The State Award-winning actor reportedly plays a hitman in the movie.
