What is the plot of Kasargold?
Asif portrays the character of Alby, who is employed by a political leader. While smuggling the gold, an accident occurs, and he loses the precious metal. Sunny Wayne plays Faisal, who has stolen the gold from Alby, and his gang is now after him to retrieve it. The film's primary plot follows the typical story of two young men being chased for the lost gold. Despite its conventional plot, the film's colour tone, characters and actors' appearances add a quirky touch to it.
Reasons to watch Kasargold
Some Malayalam movies like Loham and Irupatham Nootandu have portrayed gold smuggling as a heroic deed. In the film Kasargold, gold smuggling is depicted with the help of visually stunning scenes and trippy music. The film showcases breathtaking locations like Goa and effectively conveys its gory nature through the use of colour tones. The music by Vishnu Vijay creates an enthralling atmosphere to complement the fast-paced editing by Manoj Kannoth. Asif Ali, Sunny Wayne, and Malavika Sreenath deliver strong performances in the film. Asif's portrayal of an eccentric young man fits well with the overall tone of the movie, while Sunny's mature performance is complemented by Vinayakan and Malavika Sreenath. Vinayakan's role as a cop is refreshing to watch, especially after his impressive performance as a negative character in Rajinikanth's Jailer.
