Kartikeya, who shot to fame with the thriller romance RX 100, went onto play diverse roles in films like 90 ML, Gang Leader, Raja Vikramarka and debuted into the Tamil market with Vijay’s Valimai. It took him over seven years for him to register his next solo hit with Bedurulanka 2012, the doomsday comedy that released week. The film’s success meet was held in Hyderabad today.
Thanking Sree Vishnu for gracing the event, Kartikeya said he believed in the script the day he heard it for the first time. He’s thrilled to notice how the collections are getting better by the day, displaying a strong hold on weekdays as well and expressed his gratitude to audiences for supporting the film. His phone hasn’t stopped ringing since the ‘first day first show’.
Kartikeya mentioned he’s been trying a wide variety of roles in the last 4-5 years and is relieved that his conviction in the subject paid off today. “I am relieved, all thanks to audiences. We went through many challenges as we made it over 1.5 years but we stood by those who supported us. My films after RX100 didn’t perform as expected though family and friends believed in me fully.”
He stated the best gift he could give audiences is to entertain them and that they should come out of the theatres thinking it is a ‘good’ film. He credited director Clax for the opportunity and filmmaker Ajay Bhupathi (also present at the event) for laying a strong foundation to his career. “I’ll always be indebted to Ajay. Viewers are now referring to Neha Sshetty as Chitra over DJ Tillu’s Radhika. Mani Sharma’s tunes worked in our favour too.”
Ajay Ghosh, Satya, Raj Kumar Kasireddy, Srikanth Ayyengar, 'Auto' Ram Prasad, Goparaju Ramana, LB Sriram, Surabhi Prabhavathi, Kittayya, Anithanath and Divya Narni played other key roles in the comedy produced by Ravindra Benerjee Muppaneni under Loukya Entertainments.
