Two years ago, an official announcement of Aashiqui 3 was made on social media. The film was to be directed by Anurag Basu with Kartik Aaryan in the lead role. After Kartik, Triptti Dimri joined the romantic musical, marking a reunion with her Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. However, it seems Aashiqui 3 will not be made any time. According to the latest update, Triptii has quit the third installment of Aashiqui. Following the same, the Anurag Basu directorial is reportedly postponed.

As per Mid-Day's report, Anurag Basu is now set to make a new love saga altogether. Triptii Dimri was excited to be a part of Aashiqui 3, but she is no longer doing the romantic musical.
"Aashiqui 3 is undergoing a [title]-related dispute. So, it has been postponed indefinitely," a source told the tabloid. The actress reportedly shot for a few days for Aashiqui 3 last year. However, the reason behind her exit is not known yet.
As of now, Kartik and Anurag have reportedly decided to move forward with another project. It will be produced by Bhushan Kumar. "All three of them were keen to collaborate with one another, and they found the perfect opportunity in a love story. It will roll later this month or in the first week of February in Mumbai," an insider said.
When Kartik Aaryan announced Aashiqui 3
Meanwhile, Kartik made an official announcement of Aashiqui 3 in September 2022. Sharing a glimpse of the third installment, the actor captioned his Instagram post: "Ab Tere Bin Ji Lenge Hum Zeher Zindagi Ka Pi Lenge Hum Aashiqui3 This one is going to be Heart-wrenching !! My First with Basu Da (sic)."
On the work front, the actor was last seen in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Directed by Anees Bazmee, the film worked well at the box office. After its theatrical release, the horror comedy had its digital premiere on Netflix. Kartik worked with Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit Nene in the film.
