The impending spine-chilling romance thriller Freddy was recently announced by Disney+ Hotstar. The movie, which has been directed by Shashanka Ghosh and produced by Balaji Telefilms Ltd, NH Studioz, and Northern Lights Films, will premiere on December 2, 2022, only on Disney+ Hotstar. Freddy stars Kartik Aaryan and Alaya F in the lead roles.

Freddy, the most anticipated movie from Kartik Aaryan, is about a shy, lonely, and a socially awkward man named Dr. Freddy Ginwala. He likes to play with his model aeroplanes and his only friend is his pet turtle, Hardy. Freddy will have spectators on the edge of their seats with his unique turns, twists, and emotional mayhem.

In a statement, Kartik said that he has always maintained that, as an actor, he's very thrilled to try out other genres. The actor wants to do all types of films, take on different characters, and always push himself. According to him, Freddy was a complicated character, both physically and intellectually. It's highly complex and difficult. But there was something about it that truly energised his inner performer.

The actor talked about how he prepared for a character by saying that, like with any character, he had to watch and study the small details of how the character walked, talked, sounded, and had small habits and quirks.

The main thing Kartik focused on was doing everything he could to reject the conventional picture he was showing onscreen. Freddy had to stand out despite appearing to be an ordinary guy on the surface; he couldn't be the friendly, pleasant everyday guy who people could relate to.

Freddy marks the first outing of Kartik and Alaya on screen. While it is her second film following her debut with Jawani Jaaneman in 2020, after Dhamaka, which came out on Netflix in 2021, this is Kartik's second OTT movie.
