After Gadar 2's enormous success, Sunny Deol has plans to make sequels to more of his popular films. Hence he chose the sequel to his hit film Border (1997) as his next. The multi-starrer film, Border, is one of the most appreciated films and still receives a lot of love from fans. Border 2 is now in pre-production, and Sunny will play the lead role. JP Dutta, who directed the first movie, is back to helm this one as well, and casting is underway for additional actors. However, there were reports that Kartik Aaryan and Ayushmann Khurrana had been approached for the film, turns out, these reports were untrue.
According to the most recent reports, Kartik was not approached for the 1997 movie's sequel. Nidhi Dutta has now made it clear that the film's casting is still in progress. In a report, Pinkvilla revealed that T-Series and Nidhi Dutta, JP Dutta's daughter, had denied these allegations. The report cited the sources as adding that these rumors are "baseless and lack any factual basis". "The film’s supporters are urged to dismiss such misinformation and trust only authentic updates from official sources," the source was quoted as saying.
It was previously reported that Ayushmann Khurrana has been cast in the ambitious sequel's parallel starring role opposite Sunny Deol. According to the rumors, Ayushmann and director and producer JP Dutta were in the advanced stages of conversation.
