Kartik Aaryan and Alaya F wrap Freddy in just 2 months, confirm theatrical release

In just two months, Kartik Aaryan wrapped the shoot of his forthcoming film Freddy. The actor plays the titular role in the movie directed by Shashanka Ghosh and also features Alaya F as the female lead. Kartik took to his social media pages and shared the news with his fans along with a few photos and videos. The whole team twinned in white tees and penned happy messages on them.

On sharing his post, Kartik captioned it as "It's a Wrap!!! A character that will always stay like a shadow with me. #Freddy will see you at the theatres."

Ekta Kapoor and Jay Shewakramani have jointly produced the film which is set to have a theatrical release soon. Freddy is touted to be of romantic thriller genre going by the BTS photos and videos which were made to the Internet. 

Earlier, while talking about the film, Kartik had said in a statement, "As an actor, I crave to explore different facades of entertainment and with Freddy, I'm venturing into an uncharted territory which is both exciting and intriguing in equal measures. I look forward to dwelling in the world of Freddy and bring alive this dark romantic thriller."

On uniting with Shashanka, Ekta and Jay for the film, Kartik added, "Couldn’t have asked for a better team on this new journey."

Meanwhile, the film marks the second outing of Alaya after her debut Jawaani Jaaneman which was released in 2020. The actor also has the Hindi remake of the Kannada film U-Turn which originally featured Shraddha Srinath in the lead role. The movie was later remade in Tamil-Telugu with Samantha Akkineni in the lead role. Both the movies are currently streaming on Netflix.

Talking about Kartik, the actor is all set to make his Netflix debut with the film Dhamaka directed by Ram Madhvani. The release date of the film is yet to be announced.
