Karthi-Prem Kumar’s family drama Karthi 27 to be shot in sync sound?

Actor Karthi, who was last seen in Japan, is currently working in a film tentatively titled Karthi 27 . The film is directed by Prem Kumar, who last made the classic romantic drama 96. Now, as per reports, it is said that Karthi 27 is shot in sync sound.

The film is backed by Karthi's brother, Suriya's home banner, 2D Entertainment.

As per the DT Next report, Karthi 27 is shot in sync sound method and will be the actor's second outing in a similar fashion after Kaatru Veliyidai. The film is currently being shot in locations in Tamil Nadu, including Karaikudi, Kumbakonam, and other places.

For those uninitiated, sync sound is a process in which sound is recorded at the time of shooting, thus avoiding the process of dubbing at times. This enables filmmakers to capture actual and authentic sounds rather than recreate them in the post-production phase.

About Karthi 27

The film, which went on floors in November 2023, is touted to be a family drama. However, the makers have not yet revealed the actual title of the film. According to reports, the upcoming film stars Karthi and Arvind Swamy in lead roles. The film is reportedly about two friends who become arch enemies. Actor Sri Divya is expected to play Karthi's sister.

While an official announcement on the project details is yet to be made, the film is said to have been shot by cinematographer Sathyan Sooryan, with Govind Vasantha scoring the music. Karthi 27 is backed by Suriya and Jyothika’s home banner, 2D Entertainment.

Karthi’s 2024 line-up

Besides Karthi 27, the actor will be seen in numerous exciting projects that are lined up for 2024 release. The Japan actor will be starring in the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial Kaithi 2, which is likely to go on floors this year. He will also be seen in other sequels to his previous films, including PS Mithran’s Sardar 2 and a film with Nalan Kumarasamy. The actor’s upcoming film lineup has more sequels to his blockbuster films.
