It turns out that, after Dhanush and Dhruv Vikram, Mamannan director Mari Selvaraj is all set to direct Karthi in his next film. And what's more, the film will be going on floors in 2025. Prince Pictures, a production house, had recently wished the director on his birthday. And it seems that there is more to the wish. 

A source close to the production house has revealed, “Karthi and Mari Selvaraj are teaming up for a film that will be announced next year. The shoot will go on floors in 2025 and the film will be released in the same year.” While Karthi and Mari Selvaraj have signed on the dotted lines, the rest of the cast and crew are yet to be announced.

Karthi has a long list of exciting projects

Karthi had a disastrous outing in 2023 with Japan. But it seems like his forthcoming projects are anything but. The actor has signed some interesting projects, like Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Kaithi 2 and director PS Mithran's Sardhar 2. With the new Mari Selvaraj project, it looks like Karthi has a tight schedule for the next year or so. 

With so many films in his kitty, fans are eager to know if Karthi will have back-to-back releases. At a recent event, the actor revealed that he will begin shooting for Kaithi 2 in 2025, and now that Mari Selvaraj's project is also planned to begin in 2025, fans can expect Karthi's other films, such as Sardar 2, Karthi 26 with Nalan Kumarasamy and Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru 2 to hit the big screens this year.

Mari Selvaraj to begin film with Karthi after DV03

Meanwhile, Mari Selvaraj is busy shooting for his Dhruv Vikram-starrer DV03. He is expected to begin shooting for his film with Karthi after he wraps up DV03, which is a sports drama. 

DV03 is the biopic of former Tamil Nadu kabaddi player Manathi Ganesan, who is the recipient of the Arjuna Award. Dhruv Vikram plays the former kabbadi player and has reportedly been undergoing intense training sessions to convincingly play the part. The shooting for this sports drama will reportedly commence on March 15.
