Tamil star Karthi recently took a break from his busy schedule to attend a reunion with his college friends. In a heartwarming gesture, Karthi set aside his stardom and seamlessly blended in with his old friends, enjoying the occasion with genuine enthusiasm. The photographs captured the joyous moments as Karthi donned a specially designed reunion t-shirt, exuding a sense of camaraderie.

The reunion was organized for the alumni of Crescent Engineering College who graduated in 1998. After completing his engineering degree, Karthi ventured to Binghamton University in New York on a scholarship, where he further pursued his studies. It was during this time that his passion for filmmaking flourished, leading him to undertake courses related to the subject.

And when Karthi came back to Chennai, he joined director Mani Ratnam's team as one of the assistant directors. However, his career took a different turn, when he bagged the lead role in director Ameer's Paruthiveeran. The 2007 movie made his screen debut and launched his acting career on a successful note. Karthi is now one of the most bankable stars of Tamil cinema.

He recently tasted huge success with Ponniyin Selvan's franchise . He managed to bag one of the coveted roles in the book, Vallavaraiyan Vandiyadevan and delivered a memorable performance in the movies. The movie was a result of Ratnam's long-nurtured dream of adapting Ponniyin Selvan for the big screen. The movie was split into two parts: Ponniyin Selvan 1 and 2, and both became critical and commercial hits.

Karthi is now busy shooting for his upcoming movie Japan.
