Karthi 27 is Meiyazhagan: Here's what stands out in the first-look poster ft. Arvind Swamy and Karthi

We had earlier reported that actor Karthi's upcoming 27th outing will be directed by 96-fame director Prem Kumar. The makers of the film unveiled the first look and title of the film. Titled Meiyazhagan, the film also stars Arvind Swamy and Sri Divya in the lead roles.

Karthi 27 is Meiyazhagan

The makers of Karthi's upcoming 27th film unveiled the title and first look of the film on Friday. The film is titled Meiyazhaga. Apart from Karthi, the film also stars Arvind Swamy and Sri Divya. The first look shows Arvind Swamy riding a bicycle with Karthi sitting behind him, as both of them sport a smile. Karth's childish expression and posture certainly give the poster an intriguing look.

The upcoming project is written and directed by Prem Kumar, who made the critically acclaimed film 96, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha. Meiyazhagan is produced by Karthi's brother, actor Suriya and actor Jyothika under their home banner, 2D Entertainment. While the shooting for the film has been wrapped up, the release date has yet to be announced. The cinematographer of the film is Mahendiran Jayaraju and Govind Vasantha has scored the music. Actors Karunakaran, Rajkiran, Jayaprakash, and Swati Konde are also part of Meiyazhagan. The film was shot in locations in Tamil Nadu, including Karaikudi, Kumbakonam, and other places. It is also to be noted that Karthi 27 is shot in sync sound method and will be the actor's second outing in a similar fashion after Kaatru Veliyidai.

Expected to be a family drama, Meiyazhagan marks the first time Karthi is collaborating with Prem Kumar. According to reports, the upcoming film is reportedly about two friends who become arch enemies. Sri Divya is expected to play Karthi's sister. More details on the film are expected to surface sooner.

Meanwhile, Karthi, who was last seen in Japan, has Kaithi 2 with Lokesh Kanagaraj and Sardar 2 with PS Mithran in the pipeline.
