Karthi 27: Makers of Karthi's film release special celebration video showing the film’s journey

Actor Karthi has been in the news, with the actor recently have wrapped up shooting for his upcoming film tentatively titled Karthi 27. While it has been a while since the makers had officially posted anything about the project, 2D Entertainment which is backing the film, released a special celebration video of the project.

The video shows the launch pooja ceremony, along with some key members of the project, until the project was wrapped up recently.

It’s a wrap for Karthi 27

Actor Karthi, who was last seen in heist thriller drama Japan, is currently working in a tentatively titled project Karthi 27. The film is written and directed by Prem Kumar who made 96. The shooting was recently wrapped up. The film, which is backed by Suriya and Jyothika's 2D Entertainment, released a new video compiling the film's journey, right from the start to the wrap. The film stars Arvind Swamy, Sri Divya, Raj Kiran, Jayaprakash, Saran among others.

Karthi 27 went on floors in November 2023 and is speculated to be titled Mei Azhagan. According to reports, the upcoming film is reportedly about two friends who become arch enemies. Sri Divya is expected to play Karthi's sister. The film has been shot in sync sound method and has music by Govind Vasantha. Mahendiran Jayaraju is the cinematographer. It is expected that the title and other details of the film will be announced soon.

Karthi completes 17 years

Actor Karthi recently completed 17 years in the industry as an actor. He debuted with the hit iconic film Paruthiveeran which released on February 23, 2007. Directed by Ameer and co-starring Priya Mani, the film fetched critical acclaim, commercial success, and many awards.

Karthi, who went on to deliver some hit films like Paiyaa, Madras, Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, and Kaithi, has a glorious line of films. He is doing a film with Nalan Kumarasamy, and also has sequels to Kaithi and Sardar with filmmakers Lokesh Kanagaraj and PS Mithran respectively.
