There have been multiple reports of makers roping in Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sai Pallavi, and Shruti Haasan for Yash-starrer Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-ups. The makers of the film have finally released a statement as social media has been flooded with multiple speculations. In the statement, the team asked fans to refrain from making speculations.
Appreciating the excitement around the film, the makers of Toxic asked fans to not believe in any speculations and wait for the official announcement. "There are many unsubstantiated theories and information doing rounds about the casting of Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups. We truly appreciate the excitement around Toxic, but at this point, we would request everyone to refrain from speculation. The casting process for the film is near completion, and we are thrilled with the team we have onboard. As we gear up to bring this story to life, we request everyone to wait for the official announcements," the makers said in a statement.
Earlier, there were multiple reports speculating names of actresses including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sai Pallavi, Raashii Khanna, Kiara Advani, and Shruti Haasan joining in for the lead opposite Yash. The rumors gained momentum when Kareena recently spoke about working in a South film. She had said, "Now, like I said, I might be doing a very big South film. Now it’s like, all pan-India so I don’t know where I’ll be shooting, but I’m excited for all my fans to know that it’s going to be the first time that I will be doing this."
The movie is helmed by Geetu Mohandas and is slated to release in theatres on April 10, 2025. The film is an action-packed extravaganza set against the backdrop of the drug mafia.
KGF-fame Yash announced the film in December 2023 by sharing the title with a video, revealing his look. He wrote in the caption: "What you seek is seeking you’ – Rumi A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups #TOXIC."
