Former cricketer Kapil Dev, who will be seen in a cameo in Aishwarya Rajinikanth's upcoming film, Lal Salaam, has completed dubbing for his portions. Pictures of the legendary cricketer at the dubbing studio are now doing the rounds on the internet.

Kapil Dev and his stint with films
Lal Salaam will mark his maiden venture in Tamil cinema. Kapil Dev will be sharing screen space with none other than Superstar Rajinikanth in the film, which is billed as a sports drama. Interestingly, Rajinikanth himself is making a special appearance in the film. A part of Lal Salaam is set in Mumbai and Rajinikanth has shared screen space with Kapil Dev in those portions.

Taking to his social media handle, Rajinikanth had called Kapil Dev "most respected and wonderful human being". He also recalled the ace cricketer's contribution to Indian cricket, including bringing home India's first ever World Cup. The former skipper, too, had said that it was his "honour and privilege to be with the great man."

Kapil Dev has appeared in a slew of films, including Double XL, 83, Iqbal and Chain Kulii Ki Main Kulii to name a few.

Lal Salaam in final stages of production
The post-production of the film is in full swing. Lyca Productions, which is bankrolling Lal Salaam, had announced that the final touches of the film are happening and that the sports drama will hit screens for Pongal as planned.

The film will be released in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam & Kannada. The exact release date is awaited.

Star cast and crew
Lal Salaam features Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in the lead. The supporting cast comprises Livingston, Senthil, Jeevitha, KS Ravikumar, Thambi Ramaiah, Nirosha, Vivek Prasanna, to name a few.

Music for the film is by AR Rahman, cinematography is by Vishnu Rangasamy and editing is by B Pravin Baskar. This is Aishwarya Rajinikanth's third project as a director after 3 and Vai Raja Vai. She had also helmed a documentary titled Cinema Veeran.
