Rishab Shetty is a very busy man since the release of his latest, Kantara, which continues to set the box office on fire. As the Kannada film inches closer to two weeks in movie halls, Rishab is now prepping to present the dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam to audiences, starting the upcoming weekend. On October 14, the Hindi version will release, followed by Telugu on October 15 and Tamil on October 16.

Rishab, who was busy with post-production work prior to the release and did only limited promotional tours for the film, is now going all out to speak about Kantara, which is the talk of every town he is going to. Earlier this week, the actor-filmmaker was in Hyderabad with his team to promote the upcoming Telugu release of the film and decided to address the gathering (media) in Kannada.

Netizens, of course, are elated at this turn of events, calling it a sweet payback for all the times that heroes from other industries have come to Karnataka to promote their films and not made an effort to speak the language. Rishab, of course, had cited the similarities between Kannada and Telugu (which also share a common script) for his choice of language at the event.

Comments ranged from “He is a true kannadiga because he is talking kannada in AP state proud of him jai Karnataka” to “Proud of Rishab Shetty… Speaking in his own language”, “Respect for Rishab sir for the Kannada speech”, “Rishab Shetty is not hesitant to speak in his mother tongue” and
“When telugu stars come here and speak Telugu. Now Kannada star Rishab shetty is giving them back the same,” there were a lot of proud sentiments at play online.

In subsequent interviews also Rishab mixed English and Kannada to convey his thoughts. “Rishabh sir understand what anchor says in Telugu & Anchor understand what Rishabh sir says in Kannada & both are talk in their mother languages not only this I have seen so many interviews of Kannada & telugu. What a bonding between these two languages,” read a comment.
