News of Rishab Shetty spending some time away in Dubai is currently doing the rounds on social media. The actor-director, as evidenced by a small video clip, is stationed in the glittery city and while the trip also includes some much-needed rest & recreation, turns out Rishab was also honoured by noted Indian associations and communities in the UAE.
Yes, the Kantara director was recently felicitated by two major Indian communities residing in Dubai and Sharjah respectively. Rishab Shetty served as the chief guest of honour at the Karnataka Sangha in Sharjah where he was presented with the 'Mayura Vishwanmanya Kannadiga' award for proactively promoting and celebrating the Kannada language, culture, and literature.
The felicitation, reportedly, took place as part of the Sharjah Karnataka Sangha's 20th-anniversary celebrations on November 13, 2022, as well as with the 67th Karnataka Rajyotsava. In the pictures that are now available on social media, Rishab Shetty can be seen interacting with members of the association and also addressing the crowd at the event.
In the same vein, Rishab and his wife Pragathi Shetty were honoured by the UAE BUNTS association for their contribution to the community and its vibrant culture. According to the reports, the couple was part of a special gathering to "celebrate the success of Kantara - A Divine Blockbuster" and were later felicitated for their achievements. Many noted members of the UAE BUNTS association were present at the event.
Pragathi Shetty served as Kantara's costume designer and was also seen playing a small role in the film. She has previously worked on films like Sarkari. Hi. Pra. Shale Kasaragodu, Bell Bottom, and Harikathe Alla Girikathe as a costume designer.
The success of Kantara has made Rishab Shetty a bona fide global figure and the film's extraordinary exploits reflect just that. Over the course of his 50-day theatrical run, Kantara has amassed admirers from all corners of the world and even managed to transcend cultural & linguistic boundaries. The film is now on the brink of creating history by surpassing KGF 2's box office collections in Karnataka.
