Rishab Shetty's Kantara shows no signs of stopping at the box office as the film witnesses another growth in collections. Having already grossed over Rs. 30 crores worldwide, the film displayed a stronghold during the mid-week Dasara/Dusshera break and yielded great box office results for the makers.
According to the latest trade reports, Kantara has collected over Rs. 8.5 crores (net) on Vijayadashami (Day 6 of the theatrical run) which comes as the highest ever single-day collections so far. This takes the domestic earnings of the film over Rs. 30 crores in terms of net collections and with the second weekend only around the corner, the Rs. 50 crore mark is within hand's reach for Rishab Shetty & Co.
Although Kantara encountered a small dip in sales on the previous Monday (Day 4), the highly encouraging word-of-mouth publicity brought things back in order with the following day seeing a 35% rise in collections. To top this, Day 6 saw another steep increase in box office figures and the film is placed tremendously well at the moment to end up as a massive commercial success.
Written and Directed by Rishab Shetty, Kantara has been produced Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films with Shetty himself starring as the lead and Sapthami Gowda, Kishore, Achyuth Kumar, and others playing principal roles. Despite the pressures, the makers chose to not dub the film in other languages and instead released it in Kannada alone all over the world. However, as confirmed by Rishab Shetty himself, audiences from across the globe have urged the makers to re-release the film in other Indian languages (as dubbed versions) and one can expect an announcement regarding the same to be made at the earliest.
As far as the box office performance of Kantara is concerned, the film finds itself without any box office competition this upcoming week and this should further boost the collections.
