On the occasion of Tamil New Year, the makers of Kanguva unveiled a special poster of Suriya in his dual roles

The Kanguva update is here! The makers of Suriya’s most anticipated period action film Kanguva have unveiled a special poster on the auspicious occasion of Tamil New Year. The intriguing new poster features Suriya in dual roles – one in the tribal periodic look with a sword-like weapon, and the other of the modern character with a modern gun. Both characters are seen face-to-face in the poster which has piqued the interest of the audience. The caption of the new poster reads ‘When the past and present collide’, hinting that the film is set to be based on time travel.
Although the film is a fictional story that is set in an imaginary world, fans have been drawing comparisons with the actor’s 2011 film 7am Arivu as Suriya is portraying dual roles, who are from two different timelines. Will Kanguva also have a similar plot or is it just pure coincidence? Nevertheless, the answers to these questions will be answered soon as the makers promise a 2024 release!

Kanguva’s shoot update
Bankrolled by Studio Green, Kanguva is billed as a fantasy action drama. Studio Green’s producer Dhananjayan recently revealed that the post-production works of the Siva directorial are going on in full swing. “We are finalising the dubbing work for the 10 languages. We are also planning to release the film in 20 languages for its digital release. We also have 3D works. All are shaping up well in Kanguva, and Siva is very happy with the output of the work so far. Kanguva will have its release in the next eight months,” he revealed, adding that the dubbing would be completed soon.
Kanguva’s OTT partner
Recently, it was announced that the post-theatrical rights of Kanguva have been bagged by Amazon Prime Video. Apart from Suriya, the film also stars Bollywood actors Bobby Deol and Disha Patani, who are making their Tamil debuts. The film has music by Devi Sri Prasad. Although the makers are promising a 2024 release, the official date is yet to be revealed.
