Kanguva release date: Suriya-starrer to finally hit theatres on this day

The wait is over! The makers of Kanguva, the upcoming Tamil film starring actor Suriya Sivakumar in the lead role, have finally revealed the release date. Kanguva is all set to hit the big screens on October 10, the announcement was made on social media on Thursday.

Kanguva is one of the most anticipated films from the Tamil cinema. Headlined by Suriya, the film is directed by filmmaker Siruthai Siva. Fans have been asking for the release date for a while now.

On Thursday, the makers dropped the release announcement suddenly. Kanguva is all set to hit big screens on October 10. The film is backed by the Studio Green banner. Besides Suriya, the film also stars Disha Patani as the female lead and Bobby Deol as the primary antagonist. It is to be noted that both the actors will be making their Tamil debut with Kanguva.

Kanguva, the period fantasy action film, marks the first onscreen collaboration between Suriya and director Siva. The highly anticipated project has been in production for over two years. Fans have been waiting for the release of the film for a long time now.

The post theatrical rights of the film have been bagged by Prime Video. Kanguva is the most expensive film in Suriya's career. Written and directed by Siva, the film's narrative spans 500 years. Suriya and Bobby Deol are said to be playing double roles in the fantasy drama. The clash between their characters in medieval avatars seems to be the highest point in this tentpole film.

It is to be noted that Kanguva will mark actor Suriya’s first release in two years. He was last seen as Rolex, making a guest appearance in Kamal Haasan-starter Vikram. The actor also recently announced that he will be collaborating with Karthik Subbaraj for a film tentatively titled Suriya 44. Suriya will also be seen making a guest appearance in the Hindi film Sarfira, which is the remake of his film Soorarai Pottru.
