Kanguva: Bobby Deol to lock horns with Suriya in this period film helmed by Siva?

It looks like the star cast for Suriya's upcoming film Kanguva is getting bigger by the day. According to ETimes, popular Bollywood star Bobby Deol is all set to play the antagonist in the film. If the actor indeed gets on board, Kanguva will mark his debut in Tamil. We hear that his portions will be shot in Bangkok, Thailand next month. It is to be noted that Nataraj Subramaniam aka Natty is already playing a villain in the film. The addition of Bobby Deol has only upped the ante.An official confirmation is awaited.

In the meantime, the glimpse from Kanguva, which was released online at 12.01am today on the occasion of Suriya's birthday, has already clocked around 4 million views. The glimpse shows Suriya in a menacing avatar as Kanguva, the son of spirit and fire. The war sequences and the way Suriya gradually unveils his look by doffing his mask has had the audience eating of his hands. Fans of the actor have called the glimpse mind boggling and have said that it's time that the glimpse be screened during the theatrical release of Jailer.

The film is directed by Siruthai Siva, marking his first project with Siva. A special preview screening was held in Chennai yesterday. During the screening, Siva had revealed that the project was conceived at least four years ago and that it is every director's dream to make a project of this scale. He added that the film was a potpourri of emotions, war and action and that the team has been working hard to deliver a fantastic project.

The high-octane pulsating music by Devi Sri Prasad in the glimpse of Kanguva, has also struck a chord with fans. Kanguva is bankrolled by KE Gnanavel Raja under the banner of Studio Green. Kanguva is one of the most hyped projects in the career of Suriya and Tamil cinema, and expectations are soaring higher by the day.
