Dhaakad release date: When and where to watch Kangana Ranaut's action thriller on OTT

Kangana Ranaut's recent release Dhaakad is all set to stream on ZEE5 from July 1. The film, directed by Razneesh Ghai, is a spy thriller in which Kangana is playing Agent Agni. The rest of the star cast includes Arjun Rampal, Divya Dutta and Saswata Chatterjee. Taking to its social media page, ZEE5 said, "Keep the fire extinguishers ready! Agent Agni is coming soon to set your screens on fire! 🔥Watch the World Digital Premiere of #Dhaakad on 1st July, 2022 only on #ZEE5. (sic)." Dhaakad hit screens on May 20 and received negative reviews from the critics and audience. The film tanked at the box office.

OTTplay had earlier reported that Dhaakad had managed to rake in only about Rs 50 lakh on its opening day. On the eight day of the release, the film is reported to have managed to sell only 20 tickets across the country, earning around Rs 4,420. After the disastrous run, many shows had to be cancelled due to low footfalls and had to be replaced with Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which worked well at the box office. 

The plot revolves around Agni (Kangana Ranaut), a special agent with the International Task Force, who is on a mission to eliminate an international human and arms trafficker Rudraveer (Arjun Rampal. As she sets out on her assignment, her traumatic past catches up with her, which has also has a connection with Rudraveer. Music for the film was by Dhruv Ghanekar and the songs are composed by Dhruv, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Badshah and Hiten Kumar. The portions have been canned by Japanese cinematographer Tetsuo Nagata.

In the meantime, Kangana has moved on to her next projects titled Emergency, Tejas, Emergency and The Incarnation: Sita. She will also produce the black comedy series Tiku Weds Sheru, which features Nawazuddin Siddique and Avneet Kaur.
