Kangana Ranaut's Emergency has been postponed once again. The film will no longer release on September 6 and the new release date of the project has not been announced yet. The actor-politician has now reacted to the delay of her film's release after the Central Board of Film Certification revoked its certificate after multiple petitions.

On Shubhankar Mishra's podcast, Kangana Ranaut called India a 'hopeless nation'. She said, “Meri film pe hi Emergency lag gayi hai. Bahut hi nirashajanak ye sthiti hai. Main toh khair bahut hi zyada disappointed hu apne desh se, aur jo bhi haalaat hain (An Emergency has been imposed on my film too. It's a very hopeless state. I'm quite disappointed by our country and whatever the circumstances are).”

The actress also mentioned that she's been singled out as the events that her film Emergency will showcase have already been documented in multiple films. She said that the 2017 political thriller by Mahur Bhandarkar titled 'Indu Sarkar' showcased the imposition of the 1975 Emergency as well as Meghna Gulzar's Sam Bahadur had events from the 1971 India-Pakistan War. The actress also added that her certificate was revoked after review because of multiple petitions even when she had already received her film certified by the CBFC.

"I've made this film with a lot of self-respect which is why the CBFC can't point out any contention. They've stalled my certificate, but I'm determined to release an uncut version of the film. I'll fight in court and release an uncut version. I can't show all of a sudden that Indira Gandhi died on her own at her home. I can't show it like that,” Kangana said in Hindi.

Along with Kangana Ranaut, Emergency also stars Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik. The film is written, directed, and produced by Kangana.
