Ali Fazal's goal was to break out on a global scale when he appeared in the 2015 Hollywood blockbuster Furious 7. In the intervening eight years, the actor has had two major English-language roles, and now he is preparing for his third with the upcoming action spy thriller, Kandahar. Hollywood icon Gerard Butler, who also produced the picture, acts alongside the actor. It also stars Travis Fimmel, Iranian-American Homeland, and 24 star Navid Negahban.
Beginning later this month, the film will be shown in over 2,000 theatres across the United States. According to Fazal, Kandahar has everything needed for a full-fledged comedy. He told Midday that this new development has him highly energised. Since the film is an action-spy thriller, he predicts that it will appeal to a wide demographic. Kandahar is the story of a covert CIA spy (Butler) who becomes stranded in Afghanistan. Ric Roman Waugh (Felon, Snitch) was the director. Fazal has gone to London to kick off the promotion, and then he'll continue the tour in Los Angeles.
The film's premiere in India is scheduled for June, but its global debut is planned for the following month. Following Kandahar, later this year Fazal will co-star with Tabu and Wamiqa Gabbi in Vishal Bhardwaj's Khufiya.
Meanwhile, Ali recently attended the Fast X premiere in Rome. Talking about the same, he earlier said that, as a result of his prior engagement with the Fast franchise, the actor is honoured to be invited to the Rome premiere of Fast X. When it comes to his international career, he owes a great deal to this franchise, as that is where he got his start. Ali is looking forward to working with the same amazing team again and seeing what new heights they will take with the action magic they've created too.
