The hype surrounding Vikram is increasing day by day, thanks to relentless promotional activities from makers for more than a month. Kamal Haasan has been ensuring that the film produced under his production company is reaching every nook and corner. He flew down to Delhi, Mumbai, Malaysia, Kochi and Hyderabad recently for the same.
The movie is expected to take the third biggest opening in Tamil Nadu this year. Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies has bagged theatrical rights of the movie in the state; shows will start as early as 4 am in the morning on June 3.
Kamal had recently confirmed in a press interaction that Vikram is likely to release in more than 5,000 theatres across the world. It is now officially out that the film will be released in 500 theatres in the US; it will be exhibited in 2,000 screens. The movie is said to have collected 250 from advance ticket sales.
The premiere shows will be held in the country in Tamil and Telugu from June 2. Prime Media, which is distributing the movie in the US, has been excitedly updating details regarding Vikram's release there.
Kamal's highest grossing movie in the US territory till date is Vishwaroopam which was released in 2013. Vikram is expected to end up as the actor-filmmaker's biggest grossing film there with a comfortable margin soon. Vijay's Beast is the highest grossing Tamil film in the US in 2022, followed by Sivakarthikeyan's Don.
The trade is eagerly looking forward to seeing how much Vikram can gross by the end of its full run, if it opens to positive response from critics and the audience. Ajith's Valimai and Nayanthara-Vijay Sethupathi-Samantha's Kaathuvaakula Rendu Kaadhal are the other two Tamil movies which made decent money at the US box office this year.
