Kamal Haasan's Pathala Pathala video song from Vikram out, goes viral within seconds

The chartbuster single Pathala Pathala from Kamal Haasan's Vikram was released on social media today, and the song went on to become viral within a few seconds. Taking to its handle, the film's production house, shared the YouTube link to the song and captioned it, "Put on your dancing shoes and try the #AndavarSwag with #PathalaPathala ! Video song out now https://youtu.be/1OjZnGZjOA0 #Ulaganayagan#KamalHaasan #Vikram @ikamalhaasan @anirudhofficial @Dir_Lokesh @Udhaystalin #Mahendran @turmericmediaTM @SonyMusicSouth @RedGiantMovies_ (sic)."

Interestingly, the lyrics for Pathala Pathala was penned and the song was sung by Kamal Haasan himself. The news was revealed by Anirudh Ravichander. He had written on his social media page, "Ulaganayagan @ikamalhaasan sir writes and sings #PathalaPathala 🥳🥳🥳 What a session! Thank you sir 😃😃😃 #Vikram first single from May 11th day after 🥁🥁🥁 @Dir_Lokesh ❤️❤️❤️ @RKFI (sic)."

Kamal Haasan, who was all praise for the composer, replied, saying, "All the while I was thinking about what a great lineage you belong to. From your great grandfather to YOU, what abundant talents and achievements in one family. You are truly living up to your family standards of excellence. More power to you my young friend. (sic)."

The song, when released earlier, had become a smash hit and had gone on to become the single most viewed video on YouTube in the hours. Vikram soundtrack comprises five songs- Pathala Pathala, Vikram (title track), Wasted, Porkanda Singam and Once Upon a Time. Anirudh had sung three songs from the album- Vikram, Wasted and Once Upon a Time, while Porkanda Singam was sung by Ravi G. 

The film, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, features Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil, along with a special appearance by Suriya. The supporting cast includes Narain, Shanvi Srivatsava, Kalidas Jayaram, Shivani Narayanan, Hareesh Peradi, and Gayathrie Shankar. Cinematography is by Girish Gangadharan and editing is Philomin Raj. The film is bankrolled by Kamal Haasan's production house, Raaj Kamal Films International.
