Kamal Haasan, the legendary actor, recently completed 65 years in the film industry. The multi-faceted talent, who will be next seen in the upcoming Mani Ratnam directorial Thug Life, kickstarted his journey in cinema as a child actor, with Kalathur Kannamma. As you may know, Ulaganayagan is currently busy with the shooting of the much-awaited project. As he completed 65 years in cinema, Kamal Haasan celebrated the special occasion with his Thug Life team, with a grand bash.
Madras Talkies, the production banner that bankrolls Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life, recently took to their social media handles and dropped the pictures and a special video of the veteran actor’s celebration with the team. In the video which is now going viral, the Ulaganayagan is seen arriving at the location of the Mani Ratnam directorial, for the shoot. The veteran filmmaker and his team surprised the leading man with massive posters of his debut film Kalathur Kannamma and Thug Life and welcomed him with huge claps.
“65 years as an actor, writer, singer, lyricist, choreographer, makeup artist, producer, and director. Forever a unit member. The entire team #ThugLife celebrates and salutes the many facets of Kamal Haasan sir’s artistry,” reads the social media post of Madras Talkies. In the pictures shared by the makers, Kamal Haasan is seen posing with the cast and crew of Thug Life, including Mani Ratnam, action choreographer duo Anbariv, cinematographer Ravi K Chandran, actor Joju George, associate filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar, and the rest of the team.

As per the reports, director Mani Ratnam and his team are planning to wrap up the entire filming of Thug Life, by the end of August 2024. Along with Kamal Haasan, the highly anticipated project features popular star Silambarasan TR in pivotal roles. Trisha Krishnan appears as the female lead in the film, which stars Ashok Selvan, Joju George, Nasser, Ali Fazal, Delhi Ganesh, Abhirami, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and others in pivotal roles. AR Rahman has composed the songs and original score for Thug Life, which is expected to hit the theatres in December 2024.
