Indian, the 1996-released blockbuster film marked Kamal Haasan and director Shankar’s first onscreen collaboration. The social thriller movie featured popular actress Manisha Koirala as the female lead. Recently, the celebrated Bollywood actress took to her official social media handles and revealed that she finally had a reunion with her Indian co-star Kamal Haasan. Interestingly, the onscreen pair met after a long time, amidst the promotions of Indian 2, the highly anticipated Indian sequel which is slated to be released in July 2024.

Manisha Koirala pens a heartfelt note for Indian co-star Kamal Haasan

The senior actress, who is all excited to meet her Indian co-star after a long gap, took to her official Instagram handle and shared a picture with the legend. Manisha Koirala also penned a special note for Kamal Haasan and thanked the Ulaganayagan for always amazing her with his brilliant mind and cinematic understanding.

“One of the brilliant minds that I had an opportunity to work with..books and films n now fashion is his world!! He recommended amazing books which stretches one’s mind & soul..his unique & deep observations on life amazed me decades ago..his cinematic understanding is unparalleled... I can have long hours of conversation with him or rather listen to him talk for hours..thank you @ikamalhaasan ji ji for all that you do and all that you are!! You never cease to amaze me each time I meet you!!” reads Manisha Koirala’s Instagram post.

Manisha Koirala’s role in Indian

For the uninitiated, the Shankar directorial which hit the theatres in 1996 featured Manisha Koirala in the role of Aishwarya, the lady love of Chandra Bose aka Chandru, in the film. Kamal Haasan, on the other hand, played the role of Chandru and his father, the legendary freedom fighter Veerasekharan Senapathy. The blockbuster movie also featured Urmila Matondkar and Sukanya, as the other female leads.
