Indian 2 has been in the making for a while. The big-budget project bankrolled by Lyca Productions began more than three years ago. After a difference in opinion between the makers, Udhayanidhi's Red Giant Movies, too, joined the production last year.
The much-expected movie is likely to release in theatres in early 2024. The huge success of Kamal Haasan's Vikram escalated the hype associated with this sequel which is currently riding on high expectations. Fans of the Ulaganayagan are eager to know when the team is going to wrap up the film.
On the occasion of Shankar's birthday falling today, Kamal has taken to his Twitter page to extend wishes to the director. He also posted a picture featuring the two of them, sending fans into a tizzy. The maverick filmmaker reciprocated Ulaganayagan's gesture as well. Earlier today, the production house posted a few pics of the team celebrating the occasion by cutting a cake.
Shankar has been regularly posting updates of Indian 2, keeping fans excited. He has been filming Ram Charan's Game Changer, too, simultaneously. Indian 2 has been constantly managing to hit the headlines for various reasons whenever the director lets cinephiles know about the shooting status.
A while ago, he informed us that he is impressed with Anirudh's music for the movie. This is the second time the musician is working for a Kamal Haasan-starrer. Indian 2 marks the second collaboration of Shankar and Kamal, too. Kajal Aggarwal, Rakul Preet, Siddharth and Gulshan Grover among others play notable roles in the movie.
There are various speculations doing the rounds about Shankar's forthcoming project. It is heard that Vijay has okayed an idea the former has narrated to him recently.
