Kamal Haasan on Sunday shared a long note detailing his decision to quit Bigg Boss Tamil Ultimate, a digital spin-off of the reality show that airs on Disney+ Hotstar.

The actor wrote that he cannot manage shooting for both the show and his upcoming film Vikram simultaneously.

Haasan said that while the teams of the show and film have “meticulously planned to ensure the production” it is “practically impossible” for him to juggle both projects.

The actor added that he felt honoured to launched Bigg Boss Tamil Ultimate and is “attached” to the show. He explained it would also be “unfair” to Vikram’s team to wait for his schedule to clear up and stall their prior commitments. "It’s a tough call and a difficult one to decide considering the passion I have for Bigg Boss," he wrote.

Haasan has previously hosted five seasons of the reality show since its first instalment in 2017. The OTT version of the show, which began streaming on Disney+ Hotstar on January 30 this year, differs from the TV format and follows the housemates’ activities 24x7.

Meanwhile, Vikram is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, and is the first film in the two-part franchise. Also part of the cast is Fahadh Faasil and Vijay Sethupathi.
