Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen's film wrapped up; here's latest update about Dulquer Salmaan-produced film

The announcement that Dulquer Salmaan will be producing a film with Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen in the lead roles got us all excited last year. Not much is known about the movie, which is the seventh production of DQ’s Wayfarer Films. In the latest update, it has been reported the film has wrapped up shooting. Here’s everything that we know about Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen’s upcoming Malayalam film. 

All about Kalyani Priyadarshan and Naslen's film

Dulquer Salmaan announced Wayfarer Films’ seventh production in September 2024. Now, the team has announced that the film, helmed by Arun Dominic, has wrapped up shooting after 94 days of shooting on January 29, 2025.  

Apart from Naslen, the film also features Arun Kurian and Chandu Salimkumar. All three actors had wrapped up shooting earlier this week with the final wrap-up announced now. 

Earlier during New Year’s, Kalyani had given an update that they have filmed for 73 days with three weeks left. Another interesting factor about the film is that Dulquer Salmaan and Tovino Thomas are rumored to have cameo appearances in the film. Nimish Ravi serves as the cinematographer, while Yannick Ben has been roped in for stunt choreography.

Santhy Balachandran about Naslen and Kalyani Priyadarshan

Santhy Balachandran, who marked her acting debut with Tovino Thomas’ Tharangam, has ventured into screenwriting with this film. She has co-written this yet-to-be-titled film with director Arun Dominic. 

Santhy Balachandran, who has featured in acclaimed films such as Lijo Jose Pellissery's Jallikkattu, recently spoke about the lead actors on social media, highlighting the different facets that helped them bring their characters to life. 

Praising Naslen, Santhy wrote, “Your spontaneity is coupled with a keen eye for detail — a potent combination in an actor.” 

In her appreciation post for Kalyani, Santhy said that the Hridayam actress will be seen as-yet-unseen avatar in the film. “Thank you for being as devoted to C and to this project as the creative team has been,” wrote Santhy in her post, making us wonder if the name of Kalyani’s character starts with ‘C’. 

Kalyani and Naslen’s upcoming films

Kalyani Priyadarshan will also be seen in Odum Kuthira Chadum Kuthira, starring Fahadh Faasil and directed by Althaf Salim.

Naslen, on the other hand, has Alappuzha Gymkhana, directed by Khalid Rahman. The film is slated to release in 2025.
