The highly anticipated sci-fi dystopian film, Kalki 2898 AD, which stars Prabhas in the lead role, is now gearing up for its grand release on May 9, 2024. Bollywood star Deepika Padukone is making her Telugu cinema debut with the movie, which is helmed by Nag Ashwin. As reported earlier, legendary actor Kamal Haasan is playing a key role in Kalki 2898 AD. In a recent interaction with the media, the Vikram star revealed that his role in the Prabhas-starrer is more of a cameo.

The legendary actor, who addressed the media during a recent event, opened up about his acting career and upcoming projects. Kamal Haasan, who confirmed that his next release will be Kalki 2898 AD, revealed that he is making a cameo appearance in the magnum opus. However, Kamal Haasan’s revelation has disappointed the Ulaganayagan’s fans as well as the cine-goers, who were expecting him in a full-fledged character. The rumour mills suggest that the legend could appear in the role of ‘Kali’ (the antagonist) in the film.
Earlier, it was rumoured that the Indian 2 actor’s character would appear only in the second half of the Prabhas-starrer. It has also been speculated that Kamal Haasan will have a screentime of less than 30 minutes in Kalki 2898 AD. However, the cine-goers started believing that the legendary actor was playing an important character in the film after he attended the San Diego comic-con with the rest of the star cast. But now, Kamal Haasan himself has put an end to all the speculations.

Kalki 2898 AD to release on March 9, 2024
As reported earlier, Nag Ashwin’s passion project is finally gearing up to hit the big screens on March 9, 2024, after multiple delays. Prabhas, the leading man, is appearing in the role of Bhairava in the film. Nothing much has been revealed about Deepika Padukone’s character in the film. Amitabh Bachchan, the legendary Bollywood superstar, is also making an extended cameo appearance in the film, in the role of Ashwatthama.
Bollywood actress Disha Patani, Pasupathy, Rajendra Prasad, Saswata Chatterjee, Rana Daggubati, Anna Ben, and others appear in supporting roles in Kalki 2898 AD. Director SS Rajamouli, Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, Vijay Deverakonda, and other popular stars are reportedly making cameo appearances. Santhosh Narayanan has composed the songs and original score. The much-awaited project is bankrolled by the prestigious banner, Vyjayanthi Movies.
