The Nag Ashwin directorial has been receiving rave reviews and is on its way to emerge as one of the biggest blockbusters in Indian cinema. The Prabhas-Deepika Padukone starrer is especially being praised for its Mahabharata sequences. Even though the cine-goers are familiar with the rest of the cast, they have been curious about the actor, who played Lord Krishna in Kalki 2898 AD. For the uninitiated, Tamil actor Krishna Kumar appeared as Krishna in the film.
Krishna Kumar, the young Tamil actor who is also known as KK, played the role of Lord Krishna in Kalki 2898 AD. For the uninitiated, the Nag Ashwin directorial begins with an epic Mahabharata portion, which features Krishna cursing Ashwatthama, the legendary warrior and son of Guru Dronacharya (played by a majestic Amitabh Bachchan). Notably, the face of the epic character is not entirely revealed in the film, but he is presented as a silhouette image with a powerful voice.
Krishna Kumar, aka KK, who is all excited about playing Lord Krishna in the epic sci-fi film, took to his official social media handles and expressed his excitement with a special post. “#Kalki2898AD An absolute honour to open an epic film, playing such a special character. Grateful,” wrote KK, who also shared a screengrab of his appearance in the film, on his Instagram story.
KK is also a noted talent in both the theatre and films, having played pivotal roles in Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru and later in Dhanush’s Maaran.
Interestingly, popular actor Arjun Das turned voice actor for Lord Krishna’s character in the Telugu and Hindi versions of Kalki 2898 AD. The Kaithi actor confirmed the reports by resharing a few fan posts on his social media accounts recently. Director Nag Ashwin and team have received so much appreciation for not just the casting but also for the choices of cameo appearances and voice actors in the multi-starrer.
