According to leading Telugu cinema PRO Suresh, producer Aswini Dutt recently revealed that around 60 percent shoot of the much-awaited Kalki 2898 AD sequel, is already finished. The rest of the 40 percent includes the most crucial parts of the film, which will take quite a lot of time to be done. However, we can assume that a major update on the highly anticipated project will be out by the time the first part completes its theatrical run.

Prabhas will return as Bhairava, while Deepika Padukone will reprise her character SUM-80 aka Sumati, the mother of Kalki. Amitabh Bachchan is expected to return as the Immortal Ashwatthama. Kamal Haasan, who plays lead antagonist Supreme Yaskin, will have a full-fledged role in the untitled Kalki 2898 AD sequel.
