Kalki 2898 AD is now on its way to emerge as one of the all-time highest-grossing films Indian cinema has ever produced. The Nag Ashwin directorial stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan, in the lead roles and Kamal Haasan as the lead antagonist. The epic futuristic sci-fi film is expected to get its OTT release in September 2024. Kalki 2898 AD Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions are slated to be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
As reported earlier, the Kalki 2898 AD Hindi OTT rights are bagged by streaming giant Netflix, for a whopping price. The regional versions of the film, including the original Telugu version, and the dubbed Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions, are not getting released on Netflix. The OTT rights of all regional versions of the Prabhas-Deepika Padukone starrer have been bagged by the popular streaming platform, Amazon Prime Video. An official announcement on the same is expected to be out once the movie nears the final leg of its theatrical run.
Earlier, it was reported that Kalki 2898 AD will have its OTT release by the end of July 2024, after it completes the theatrical run. However, the recent updates suggest that the makers are keen to postpone the OTT release of the multi-starrer to September 2024. The makers of the Nag Ashwin directorial are reconsidering the OTT release date, owing to the film’s extraordinary performance at the worldwide box office. If things fall in place, the Prabhas starrer might get an extended theatrical run till the end of August 2024.

In that case, Kalki 2898 AD has all the possibilities to emerge as the first-ever Indian film to cross the glorious Rs. 2000 crore mark with its worldwide collection. The excellent word-of-mouth publicity and increasing audience rush suggest that the makers are indeed making an intelligent move, by extending the theatrical run of the film. The Nag Ashwin directorial is undoubtedly pushing both the creative and commercial boundaries of Indian cinema, with its massive success.
